This visit to the Sacred Valley covers all the surrounding tourist attractions. On this tour, you can experience what would typically be a two-day excursion in just one day, ideal for those who have limited time in Cusco. The journey starts in Chinchero, then continues to Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, Urubamba for lunch, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac. A comprehensive tour through the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas.
At approximately 6:00 a.m., we will pick you up from your hotel (city center) and make our way to the archaeological site of Chinchero, about 40 minutes away. Here, our guide will provide explanations about its history and the most important aspects of this Inca site. We will then continue our journey to the agricultural terraces of Moray, circular constructions that house different microclimates, originally built for experimental purposes. After a guided tour, we will proceed to the Maras Salt Mines, which have been exploited since pre-Inca times and consist of over 3,500 salt ponds, currently managed by the families of the community.
After finishing our visit, we will make our way to the town of Urubamba, where we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. We will then continue for 35 minutes to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, where our professional guide will provide essential insights into the history and construction of this site, which was very important during Inca times.
It’s time to get back, and for the next 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will make our way to the final stop of our visit, the archaeological site of Pisac. This site is renowned for its vast agricultural terraces and for having the largest cemetery of the Tawantinsuyo, with approximately ten thousand tombs. After receiving the corresponding explanations, we will board our transport back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Please note that during the day, we may visit a handicraft store in a Chinchero community and a silver jewelry workshop in Pisac. This is an opportunity to learn about the weaving process and the crafting of pure silver jewelry, but it requires prior coordination with the group.
