Misminay is one of the several communities in Cusco that still keep alive their ancestral customs and a grateful relationship with nature. Nowadays they are part of the experiential tourism activity and this allows them to publicize their cultural practices closely related to textiles and agriculture. In Misminay its people welcome you with great warmth, kindness and delicious dishes to taste. We complement this experience with a visit to the great Inca citadel “Machu Picchu” where you will recover from a lot of energy.
Objective of the workshops: Show the cultural wealth transmitted from generation to generation, jealously guarded by the residents, and share the work techniques that are part of their ancestral knowledge and familiarize them through of their experiential experience in each of the processes during the development of the workshop.
Duration: The workshops last from 45 minutes to one hour and can be extended depending on the degree of interest and participation of the visitors. On a tour of the different houses and in each of them with different activities such as: agricultural session, textile session, walk to the Moray viewpoint and the making of adobes.
A group tour means that it is open for other hikers to join.

Private tours are available and the price depends on the size of the group.
The tour includes tourist transportation, official and local guide, food prepared by the community, participation in Andean weaving workshops, agriculture and a walk to the Moray viewpoint, transfers from Misminay to the Ollantaytambo train station, round-trip train tickets , bus transfers to Machu Picchu, entrance tickets to Machu Picchu and biosafety protocols.
During the tour, participants will have the opportunity to interact with the residents of Misminay, who will share their ancestral knowledge and show their cultural practices, including Andean weaving workshops and agricultural activities.
The tour lasts two days. On the first day, workshops and activities take place in the community of Misminay, followed by lodging and dinner. The second day we visit Machu Picchu with a guided tour and return to Cusco.
During the experience in Misminay, lodging is offered in the same community, where participants will be able to experience the warmth and hospitality of the local residents.
No specific fitness level required. However, the tour includes moderate hiking in Machu Picchu, so it is important to be prepared for this. The activities are designed to be accessible to most participants.
