Poroy Station exclusively serves customers of PeruRail and offers all of the previously mentioned car-classes. While it may not be as scenic as Ollantaytambo, it still provides an immersive experience on the way to the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu.
Wanchaq Station is located right in Cusco, just a few minutes from Avenida.El Sol. While in this station one can buy tickets from PeruRail for either of the routes mentioned above, there is no line directly from this station to Machu Picchu.
As it is within Cusco, Wanchaq Station is easily reachable by taxi, public transportation (combis), or even on foot, depending on your location within the city.’
Again, from this station you cannot take a train directly to Machu Picchu. Nevertheless, from this station one can take trains to either Arequipa or Puno on premium lines.
