Arequipa, the “White City,” stands out for its colonial architecture made of volcanic sillar stone and its rich history. Its historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the beautiful Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, and the Santa Catalina Monastery, a convent with centuries of history. Surrounded by the Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes, Arequipa offers breathtaking landscapes and activities for adventurers. A short distance away, the Colca Canyon allows visitors to admire the majestic flight of the Andean condor.
Its gastronomy is another unmissable attraction, featuring dishes such as rocoto relleno and adobo arequipeño. Arequipa combines history, nature, and tradition, making it an essential destination in southern Peru.

The tour begins at 14:00 hrs with hotel pick-up, heading towards the districts of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara, where we will enjoy stunning city landscapes framed by the majestic Chachani, Misti, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. The Arequipa countryside, with its preserved pre-Inca terraces and the winding Chili River, provides unforgettable postcard views.
We continue to Yanahuara, a district that retains its colonial charm with picturesque streets and sillar stone mansions. Its main square features the Church of San Juan Bautista, built in 1750 with an impressive baroque facade. However, its most famous attraction is the iconic viewpoint arches, engraved with philosophical thoughts from the Arequipa people, offering a spectacular view of the city.
Returning to the Historic Center, we will visit the Santa Catalina Monastery, a convent reflecting four centuries of Arequipa architecture. Its narrow alleys, monastic cells, colorful courtyards, and vividly painted walls transport visitors to another era, allowing them to relive the history of the nuns who lived there.
Next, we will explore Arequipa’s Plaza de Armas, considered one of the most beautiful in Peru, surrounded by elegant arcades and the imposing Cathedral. We will also visit the Church of the Society of Jesus, an icon of mestizo architecture with its exquisitely carved facade, cloisters, and an impressive dome. Finally, we will visit the Tristán del Pozo Mansion, a perfect example of colonial architecture with beautiful sillar details that evoke the grandeur of the viceroyalty era.
