Enjoy a wonderful stay in a part of our Peruvian jungle. Eco Lodge is not only a place to rest, but also to learn since we have several guides specialized in the flora and fauna found in this wonderful part of the Puerto Maldonado jungle. You can travel to Puerto Maldonado from Lima or from Cusco. The most advisable thing to save time is to go by flight since the buses take too long.
Arrival at Puerto Maldonado airport. Then, we will start our program with a bus tour of the city.
Then, we will go to Puerto Capitanía, to board a motorized boat, and navigate the Bajo Madre de Dios River. During the trip, we will enter a fascinating natural environment, with luck we will observe Ronsocos, Turtles, Herons, Alligators and other species of animals.
At our lodge, you will be greeted with delicious Amazonian tropical fruit nectar, and taken to your comfortable room (bungalow). A succulent lunch will await you in our cozy dining room with a rustic design.
CAYMAN COCHA
After lunch, you will be led by our specialized guide through a conveniently signposted interpretive trail towards Cocha Caimán, a small lagoon with an abundant presence of specimens of black caiman (Melanosuchus niger) and white caiman (Caiman crocodilus).
At the end of the afternoon, back at the lodge and from the river bank you will witness the spectacular sunset in the Amazon, an experience full of colors in welcoming ranges and intensities.
In the evening, a delicious dinner will await you, and you will have free time to share unforgettable moments in our bar, equipped with an excellent board games room and stocked with all the drinks you can imagine.
After a night’s rest, our breakfast awaits you in our dining room before returning to Puerto Maldonado, in time to catch your flight back to Lima or any other destination.
Puerto Maldonado is located in a region of great biodiversity, considered one of the areas with the greatest biological diversity in the world. Its Amazon rainforest is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna species, many of which are endemic and in danger of extinction. Furthermore, the jungle acts as an important green lung, contributing significantly to the regulation of the global climate and the maintenance of ecological balance.
In the jungle of Puerto Maldonado, you can find emblematic species such as the jaguar, the giant anteater, the macaw, the anaconda and a wide variety of species of monkeys, birds and reptiles. During the dry season, which runs from April to November, the weather is cooler and drier, making outdoor activities and wildlife viewing easier. In contrast, the rainy season, which runs from December to March, brings heavy rainfall and a rise in river levels, which can affect accessibility to certain areas and activities.
Near Puerto Maldonado, travelers can participate in cultural and community activities, such as visits to indigenous and peasant communities, where they can learn about their traditions, crafts and lifestyle. In addition, there are sustainable tourism projects that promote the active participation of local communities in the conservation of their natural environment.
