  • On dates with a high influx or high season, the visit to Machu Picchu will only include circuit 3.

  • If you request Modifications/Cancellations once the train ticket has been issued, you will lose the entrance ticket to Machu Picchu.


  1. If you only go to Machu Picchu for one day, the recommendation is that you take trains that leave Ollantaytambo from 05:05 to 08:30 AM. You should bear in mind that the transportation from Cusco to Ollantaytambo is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. You have to be at the train station always 30 minutes before the departure of the train. The travel time from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and vice versa is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. To take the return train, you can choose at times starting at 15:20 PM.
  2. If you go to Machu Picchu for two days, you can take advantage of visiting the Sacred Valley on the first day and at night take the train at 7:04 PM and the next day take the return train to Ollantaytambo at 2:55 PM .

  • Children under 2 years of age do not pay a ticket, as long as they go in the same seat as their father or mother.
  • Children from 3 to 11 years old pay 50% of the total ticket price.

How much is the baggage allowance?

The luggage to be carried in the wagons must not exceed 5 kg, for hold luggage 15 kg, but it must be requested by email to luggage@perurail.com if it exceeds these weights, the approximate amount per extra kg is $5 Dollars.
