Located south of Cusco and belonging to the province of Canchis, is the amazing Vinincunca Mountain, Mountain of 7 Colors or simply Rainbow Mountain. Its impressive and colorful natural shape has made it an essential tour in the clients’ itineraries in recent years. You can reach this mountain in a group service at a cheap cost. Currently, the most offered route is through the Cusipata town, it is a hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes with a 30% ascent up to 5036 meters above sea level. However, it is always necessary to be in Cusco two days beforehand for proper acclimatization. Join our group and enjoy this wonderful day in this great landscape of the Andes.
Itinerary
Approximately 4:00 – 4:30 AM, we will be passing through your hotels located in the downtown area of Cusco. From here we will head south for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the restaurant where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will continue for approximately one more hour to the starting point of the hike. Before the hike, our guide will provide you with walking sticks and will give you the necessary information for the long-awaited tour. The hiking is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Rainbow Mountain, if you want, you can add a visit to the Red Valley (ask the seller). It is recommended to be at least two days before in the city of Cusco, for correct acclimatization since the walk is not that complicated, but the height makes it super difficult to get there.
After the visit we will return by the same route to where our transport is located, then we will return to the same restaurant where we had breakfast to enjoy a pleasant buffet lunch. A moment of relaxation and we will take our transport back to Cusco. The vehicle will leave us in a place near the Plaza de Armas.
