This itinerary is for people who want to enjoy the wonderful landscapes of the Ausangate region, people who want to see rainbow mountains but without having to hike a lot. Palcoyo, is 4900 meters high and the hiking to get here is not very complicated, since the vehicles arrive very close to the mountains. In the circuit, you will be able to appreciate 3 rainbow mountains and a stone forest, in addition to appreciating the snow-capped Ausangate, considered the highest mountain in Cusco. If you want something more extreme, you can also do Palcoyo on Bikes.
Itinerary
PALCOYO RAINBOW MOUNTAIN
07:00 AM We will be the pickup from our passengers from the hotel. We will begin our trip along the main paved road to Puno, We will drive until Combapata, it is a trip of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. From here, we will take a dirt road and ascend to the Palcoyo town. Transport time is approximately 1 hour more.
We will arrive at the parking lot, here our guide will give us the necessary instructions for the hike. We will start the circuit where on the way we will be able to observe three rainbow mountains, the entire landscape of the Ausangate region, a stone forest, and in the background appreciate the majestic snow-capped Ausangate. This hiking circuit is approximately 2 hours in total and is not very tiring like the classic Rainbow Mountain.
Once the circuit is finished, we will be returning to our vehicle and driving back to the Cusipata town, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
In the afternoon, we will be returning to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:00 p.m.
