



These are two days tour to learn a lot about the Inca culture and construction. On the first day, we will visit the most important sites located in the city of Cusco and its surroundings such as: The Qorikancha or Temple of the Sun and 4 archaeological sites such as: Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo, Tambomachay and Puca pucara. On the second day we will tour the entire Sacred Valley, we will begin the visit to the archaeological site of Chinchero, we will continue with Moray, Maras, we will descend to Urubamba to enjoy a delicious lunch, then we will continue to Ollantaytambo, and finally we will visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq. We will finish in Cusco at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CITY TOUR CUSCO
We start the tour with the pick-up from the hotel at 1:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. We visit the Qoricancha Temple and 4 archaeological sites that are located 8 km from the city: Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay.
Cusco is one of the most visited places in the world. The city and its surroundings are home to important archaeological centers, Inca walls, colonial buildings built on Inca ruins, and legendary roads that lead to lost citadels in the heights of the Andes. In addition, the ancient cultures of Peru are kept alive in the local inhabitants, through its gastronomy, colorful typical attire, textile works, and all the glory and mysticism that surround the imperial city of the Incas.
Cusco is the sacred city of the Incas and the Archaeological Capital of the Americas. That is why we have prepared this one-day tour that takes place in the afternoon after lunch, during which we will visit the most representative places of the ancient capital of the Inca Empire.
Qoricancha: We will discover the religious center known as the “Temple of the Sun”, where the impressive engineering used in its construction is highlighted.
Sacsayhuamán: We will be impressed with a fortress of monumental stones and excellent architecture, located 3 km. from the city of Cuzco.
Qenqo: We will continue our journey with a visit to this ceremonial and ritual center, where sacrifices were made and tributes were paid to ancient forces.
Puca Pucara: Formerly known as Tambo, it is a surveillance post located on the Inca trail.
Tambomachay: It is located 7 km from the city of Cusco and is a ceremonial center for the worship of water, traditionally known as the “place of the waters”. It is an unmissable stop on our tour.
DAY 2: FULL SACRED VALLEY
06:00 Approximately, we will be going through the hotels of our clients and then drive for approximately 40 minutes to the archaeological site of Chinchero, here our guide will give us the explanations about what it was and the most important things of this Inca site. We continue our trip to the agricultural terraces of Moray, they are circular constructions that house different microclimates which were built for experimental purposes, a guided tour, and we will continue to the Maras salt flats which were exploited since pre-Inca times and have more than 3500 pools, are currently managed by the families of the community. Finishing our visit, we will go to the town of Urubamba, it is here that we will enjoy a great and delicious buffet lunch. Then, we will continue for 35 minutes to the Ollantaytambo archaeological site, and in the same way, our professional guide will give us the necessary information about the history and construction of this site that in Inca times was very important.
It is time to return, and we will drive for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the last point of our visit, which is the Pisac archaeological site, known for its immense agricultural terraces and for having the largest cemetery in Tawantinsuyo, with approximately 10,000 graves. The corresponding explanations, and we will board our return transport to Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.
You have to know that during the day, we can visit an artisan shop in a Chinchero community and some silver jewelry in the town of Pisac, this so that you can learn about the weaving and jewelry-making processes of Pure silver, of course, this is prior coordination with the group.
