Itinerário
DAY 1: AREQUIPA – COLCA CANYON
7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Our transport will go through the different hotels to start our trip to one of the deepest canyons in the world, taking the Yura highway, bordering the snowy Chachani, we head towards Pampa Cañahuas, (which belongs to the Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve) habitat of the beautiful South American camelids, the vicuñas. In the Toqra wetlands, we can appreciate a variety of migratory birds, among which are the flamingos; we will pass through the crater of an extinct volcano, Chucura; then we will stop at the viewpoint of the volcanoes, which is also the highest area of the road (4,910 m.a.s.l.) from here we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range.
From approximately 13:30 to 14:00, arrive in Chivay, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
Installation in the hotel
In the afternoon we will enjoy the thermal baths in La Calera whose thermo-medicinal waters range between 35º to 38º Celsius in temperature in the pools. 19:00 Optional, a dinner accompanied by a folkloric show. As long as the hotel is located in Chivay.
DAY 2: COLCA CANYON – PUNO
Early in the morning, we will have breakfast at the hotel and then go to the viewpoint of the Cruz del Condor, a strategic point of observation of the canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. On the way back we will stop at the towns of Maca and Yanque; which have beautiful colonial churches; as well as at the viewpoints of Antahuilque, Huayrapunko, and Peña Blanca, from where we can appreciate the beautiful landscape of Colca with its impressive terraces.
We will have free time to have lunch and then our transfer to Puno, en route we can make stops at small lagoons, where several lagoons and various migratory birds can be seen.
We will be arriving in Puno at approximately 7:30 p.m.
