DAY 1: PUNO
We will pick you up from your hotel at 06:30 am after breakfast. Then we will transfer to the lake port of Puno and depart by motorized boat at 07:00 am. After 45 minutes of travel we will arrive to the floating islands of the Uros and we will have a 40-50 minutes visit to the main islands. The local people will welcome us with typical dances and we will be able to appreciate the totora reed houses and the handicrafts that they themselves make with fine fabrics. In these crafts represent their customs and various typical animals of the area. Our guide will provide extensive information about Lake Titicaca, the legends of the Uros, their uses, customs and folklore. He will also let visitors know that the Uros people live from fishing, hunting and gathering, as well as tourism and handicrafts.
Afterwards, we will continue our journey to Taquile Island, arriving at 11:20am. We will walk for approximately 30 minutes from the port to the village, visiting Taquile for two hours during which we will be able to observe the magnificent weavings of the community. Then we will walk through its hills and archaeological sites. Upon arrival we will taste the typical dishes of the area, made from trout and if you wish a vegetable soup. After a delicious lunch, we will leave Taquile at 02:30 p.m., arriving at the lake port of Puno at 05:00 p.m.. Then we will transfer you to your hotel.
