Give into your wild side and discover the gateway to the Amazon with our exclusive Manu National Park 3 Days Tour! The Manu National Park covers a massive area of 2 million square hectares of a territory rich in diverse species of flora and fauna, with a variety of Andean, high Andean, tropical and subtropical habitats. UNESCO recognizes this natural paradise as a World Biosphere Reserve, boasting the highest biological diversity among rainforest-protected areas and highest number of endemic species in a cloud forest.
Here, because the rainforest is still largely intact, we can observe a number of highly endangered species in their natural habitats, such as the Giant River Otter (Pteronurabrasiliensis), the Black Caiman (Melanosuchus Niger), the majestic Jaguar (Pantera onca), the rare Spectacled Bear (Tremarctosornatus), and other animals such as the Tapir, Tigrillo, thirteen species of primates, and more than a thousand species of birds, including 7 species of macaws (Ara Sp.)
Furthermore, this reserve is home to 10% of the entire world’s plant species, including trees with the finest wood and innumerable species of medicinal plants that are just recently being cataloged and observed by scientists. In a single hectare of the Manu Forest we can find up to 220 different species of trees, while in a forest of the same size in Europe or the United States, there can only be found around 20 on average.
