This tour is designed for travelers who don’t have much time for a trek to Machu Picchu. It is also ideal for those who are only interested in visiting Machu Picchu while enjoying beautiful scenery on a train ride from the city of Cusco. Machu Picchu, the “New Wonder of the Modern World”, is located at an altitude of 2,450 meters and was discovered by American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. Since then, it has been the most important and most visited archaeological site in South America.

The excursion starts very early, picking you up from the hotel at approximately 4:00 AM (city center). From there, we will head in a tourist vehicle to the train station for a captivating three-and-a-half-hour journey to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the “Lost City of the Incas” and a New Wonder of the Modern World.

Arrival at Machu Picchu Pueblo station (formerly Aguas Calientes, at 2,000 meters above sea level). We will immediately board a bus that will take you to Machu Picchu, a 30-minute journey along a zigzagging road. Once at Machu Picchu, you will take a guided tour of approximately two hours, during which you will visit the most important sites of the Inca citadel, depending on the circuit assigned to you. These sites may include the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries. You will have the opportunity to take photos throughout the tour of the citadel. After the tour, you will board the bus back to Machu Picchu Pueblo to have lunch before boarding your return train.

In the afternoon, you will board the train heading to the town of Ollantaytambo, where a tourist vehicle will be waiting to take you back to the city of Cusco.
