This island is located to the east of the city of Puno just as the island of Taquile offers a varied vegetation of wild flowers among which stand out the “Kantutas” that are flowers originating from the Altiplano, is considered as the national flower of Peru. This visit has the particularity of visiting the two islands, staying overnight in Amantani, the next day visiting Taquile Island and including lunch and dinner the first day, breakfast the second day and accommodation and at night a cliff show.
The people of Amantani are also very much appreciated because among them are the most famous healers of the region, grouped in a brotherhood cliff in charge of maintaining this tradition from parents to children and to preserve even the physical and esoteric intangibility of the ceremonial temples of the “Pacha Mama” and the “Pacha Tata”. Cerros tutelares in whose customs they perform rites to remove the evil spirits, called the souls of the abandoned, to their “Tótems de Tiahuanaco” that exist in these ceremonial places. In addition to these pre-Inca remains are the remains of ancient gentílicos known as “Incachincana” and “Inca Tiyana”.
