This tour is designed for travelers who do not like a lot of hiking as the Classic Inca Trail or other surrounding routes and want to go to Machu Picchu with a calm and easy train ride knowing before reaching Machu Picchu, Andean towns of the Sacred Valley of the Incas such as Pisac and Ollantaytambo, then take a train to take us to the town of “Aguas Calientes”. You will have a restful night in a hotel before you will get to know the majestic Machu Picchu and you have the possibility to climb “Huayna Picchu”, and to get the view over the complete extend of the beautiful archaeological site of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is a place full of culture, history, and a lot of mysticism – it forms the perfect reason to enjoy a day off with your family and friends.

DAY 01: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – MACHU PICCHU TOWN

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is maybe one of the most impressive things you will see during your stay in the imperial city of Cusco. It is also known as the ‘Valley Vilcanota’. We will visit the traditional archaeological site of Pisaq and its typical market, the great fortress of Ollantaytambo, the craftsmarket and also the ruins of Chinchero.
You will be picked up at your hotel between 8.00am and 8.30am.

For the night we will drop you off at your hotel in Cusco.
Departure at 8.00 am, transport in tourist bus to the Sacred Valley.
Approximately after one hour drive we will reach the archaeological site of Pisaq.
Guided tour in the Inca site, we will descend by foot down to the small town of Pisaq where we have the opportunity to visit the typical market (“Mercado Típico”).
Lunch (buffet) in Urubamba.
Visit the Inca city of Ollantaytambo.
Train to “Machu Picchu Town” (“Aguas Calientes”).
Arrival at the train station in “Machu Picchu Town” and accommodation in hotel.

DAY 02: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Machu Picchu, “New Wonder of the Modern World”, located at 2.450 metres, was discovered by the American explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. Since then, it is the most important and most visited archaeological site in South America. We will pick you up very early at your hotel (at 6am) to go by bus to Machupicchu citadel, from where you will take a journey for three and a half hours to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the “Lost City of the Incas”, today “a New Wonder of the Modern World”. When we arrive at the train station of “Machu Picchu Town” (formerly “Aguas Calientes”, located at 2000 meters), we will immediately board our bus which takes us on a zigzag street (30 minutes) to the incredible Machu Picchu. The tour includes a guided tour through the citadel for approximately two hours, visiting the most important sites like the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and the cemeteries. Afterwards there is free time to stroll around the citadel, taking pictures (or films). Then we return to “Machu Picchu Town” to take our lunch, before getting on the train back. It will be around 6:00 pm when we will board the train to the village of Ollantaytambo, where a bus is waiting for us to bring us back to Cusco. You will be back in your hotel in Cusco around 11pm.
Departure at 06am Aprox. transfer to the Bus station.
Bus connection to the majestic citadel of “Machu Picchu”.
Guided tour for approx. 2 ½ hours.
Return by bus to “Machu Picchu Town” (or “Aguas Calientes”).
