Very early, around 10:00 hrs, we will pick you up at your hotel so that we can head to the train station and start the three-hours ride by train to “Machu Picchu Town” at 2000 m (formerly “Aguas Calientes”). After the arrival at the train station we will drop you off at your hotel, where you can check-in and have a rest. From this moment on you have free time to enjoy a lunch in one of the restaurants in town or to take the chance for a refreshing dip in the hot springs of “Machu Picchu Town” as long as you want. You spend the night in the hotel, waiting for the desired day to get to know Machu Picchu very early the next day.

After breakfast in the hotel, we will go by bus for about 30 minutes, passing a steep zigzag path, to reach the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu (also known as the Lost City of the Incas), today “a New Wonder of the Modern World”. The excursion includes a guided tour for about 2 hours in the citadel, visiting the most important sites like Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, The Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various cemeteries. Then we have free time to stroll around the complex, to take pictures or make a movie. Afterwards we return to “Machu Picchu Town” to take our lunch before boarding on the train back.
In the late afternoon, around 13:30 hrs, we are going on the train bringing us to Ollantaytambo. There a bus is waiting for us at the train station to transfer us back to the city of Cusco, where we are supposed to arrive approximately at 17:30 hrs.
